District To Discuss Armed Teachers

The Lake Pend Oreille school board will hear public testimony Tuesday night on a proposal that would train and arm teachers with guns. The public forum is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Sandpoint High School. The proposal would arm staff who agree with fingerprint recognition guns. Those guns only allow authorized user to fire them. Trustee Chairman Steve Youngdahl introduced the plan at a board meeting two weeks ago.
Youngdahl says armed school staff could be effective at stopping a threat to students before police have a chance to respond/AP. More here.

Question: Good/bad idea?
