Coeur d'Alene mayoral candidate Mary Souza has begun a "Truth Page" on her campaign Web site, to combat criticism and claims leveled at her. She explains: "When certain candidates or their supporters get desperate, they sometimes choose to attack with information that is either grossly distorted or completely false. Biased media sources might run the attacks, making them look like legitimate news stories, but they are not. And courts even allow lies to continue in political campaigns. Voters must be aware of this and be willing to seek out the truth, and that is why I’m starting this Truth page." On the "Truth Page," for example, she explains her side of the story re: her firing as a city planning commissioner in 2007. She admits that she was fired "because I was asking tough but polite questions about LCDC urban renewal." You can read her response to the firing here.
Question: Will Souza's "Truth Page" help or hurt her in the campaign?
