Kelcie Hedge is going places. The next stop: Jamaica. The vehicle is soccer, but the engine is fueled by Hedge’s relentless drive. “She doesn’t let adversity or anyone’s opinion stop her from chasing her goals and dreams,” said Kevin Moon, the director of the Spokane Soccer Academy, where Hedge has trained since she was 12. The next goal is a spot in the World Cup with the United States Under-17 national team, which brought Hedge on board this summer in time for a trip to England. Unfazed by the moment, Hedge played as a reserve in a 6-0 win on Aug. 25, then scored early in a 5-0 victory three days later/Jim Allen, NWPrepsnow.com. More here. (SR photo: Tyler Tjomsland)
