Letter: Police, Fire Shouldn’t Endorse

Since when does the police or fire department only support a portion of the citizens in our fine city? I find it very distasteful when the police or fire department endorse one candidate over another. Do they not serve all of the citizens of our fine city? In their professional life they should remain neutral and above reproach. We LOVE our firefighters and police and they should NOT be used as political fodder in a campaign that is HOTTER than any fire!/Peter & Pamela Bates, Coeur d'Alene Press.

Question: Should public safety unions endorse political candidates in local city races?
