With Friday being the deadline for area mayoral and city council candidates to file to be listed on the Nov. 5 election ballot, several have stepped forward to challenge incumbents while no one has filed for some other openings. The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is Sept. 20. (The Press provides a list of current candidates from Kootenai County towns)
