Python Crawls Into Lewiston Yard

It's not every day that Lewiston police receive calls about large snakes in backyards. Thomas Watts of Lewiston made just such a call around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday to report an approximately 6-foot-long snake was in the yard of his apartment complex on the 700 block of Airway Avenue, said Lewiston Police Capt. Roger Lanier. Officers arrived at the complex and found the light brown snake in the garden area of the backyard, Lanier said. They were able to wrangle the wayward reptile into two blue recycle bins, which were then zip-tied together. "We don't know who the owner is," Lanier said. "Nobody has claimed it yet"/Kevin Gaboury, Lewiston Tribune. More to come. (Lewiston Tribune photo: Lt. Question: Can you remember when you last had a snake in your yard?
