Wild Card/Monday — 9.9.13

On this day 29 years ago, I began working for the Coeur d'Alene bureau of The Spokesman-Review, at the old office on 4th & Garden (across alley north of Franklin's Hoagies). At the time, there were five Daves on a 10-man staff at the bureau. So I launched out on my career as D.F. (David Franklin) Oliveria. Which now has evolved into simply DFO here. I've enjoyed the wild ride -- and am looking forward to my next anniversary when I can say I've been here 30 years. Not too many people stay with a newspaper that long. I guess that proves that I like the SR (especially the Coeur d'Alene bureau) and the SR likes me. Now for your first Wild Card of the weekend ...

P.S. I'll be interviewing Coeur d'Alene mayoral candidate Joe Kunka online live this morning at 10:45 a.m.
