Wild Card/Monday — 4.28.14

Today begins the countdown for the soft opening of the eastern end of McEuen Park on Friday. You can read all about it here (SR story) and here (CdA Press story). The rest will open 3 weeks later. I'm sure there will still be critics of the project. But I also believe those voices will grow quieter and quieter as the community embraces an extraordinary new park, which, with the construction of the Centennial Trail Plaza on Front Avenue, between 2nd & 3rd streets, will link McEuen Park with City Park and City Beach. Now for your Monday Wild Card …
