Why Ask Why?

I don't want to wake Joker up from his slumber this afternoon. But I've been wondering about something that involves the new McEuen Park. Why is there so much unshaded green space in the western side of the park? I imagine no events were planned for the space this year, while the grass took root. But what is planned for the area in the future. I can't imagine sitting out in the sun on a day like the ones we've had of late, listening to a concert or a speaker (especially with all the warning about sun exposure). I know that the area was used for Coeur d'Alene's recent Park Day. Beyond that, I haven't seen many people using the space to date.

Question: Anyone know the plans for the McEuen Park green commons area?
