CdA Wants Boys & Girls Club, Too

The Boys & Girls Club is extending its reach in Kootenai County with a plan to build a club on the east side of Coeur d’Alene. The nonprofit organization already expanded its club in Post Falls, and the popularity of after-school programs there has surged since the building opened early last year. The Coeur d’Alene School Board voted unanimously Monday night to move forward with a proposal to lease vacant land next to Lakes Magnet Middle School for construction of a new club there. The school district will ask a judge to confirm its legal authority to lease three-tenths of an acre to the Boys & Girls Club for $1 a year. “This couldn’t happen fast enough for me,” school board member Tom Hamilton said/Scott Maben, SR. More here.

Question: Would you like to see a Boys & Girls Club in Coeur d'Alene, too?
