LEWISTON, ID - With the New Year, Idaho State Parks will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
And you can join Hells Gate State Park in their celebration on January first. They'll also be holding the 2015 'First Day Hike' event, which is celebrated in all 50 states. There are two separate walks. One is two and a half miles, the other is three miles.
"They all start at 10:00 am.," said Park Ranger, Charlie Chase. "We want everyone to come in to the Discovery Center, sign up, then go out for a nice leisurely, January first hike. When they get done, we'll have soup, the 50th Anniversary cake we'll be cutting at noon, so everyone can just relax and enjoy themselves while they're here."
The event is free, but everyone will have to pay $5.00 for parking.
Every state park in Idaho will be having a 50th Anniversary celebration, but Hells Gate is the first to host one. KLEW TV. com
