Graham: Waiting In Amsterdam

Huckleberries Online is following Editor's Notes, a new blog by SR Editor Gary Graham, who is traveling to the Sochi Winter Olympics with a group of students from his alma mater, Ball State.

AMSTERDAM — Landed here about an hour ago after a 9 1/2-hour flight from Seattle. Whew. That was one long flight. Waiting to board for our flight to Moscow in about an hour or so. Ball State group should be meeting me here at any time now.  One of the reasons I love travel so much is because of the new sights and sounds we're exposed to in other lands. Yep, they had displays of wooden shoes for sale in the gift shops. Send your shoe sizes and I'm on it.  Lots of internet warnings about cell phones and laptops being hacked in Russia already. Gee, I can hardly wait. Am taking precautions, of course, but Putin's gang is monitoring everyone/Editor Gary Graham/SR Editor's Notes.

Question: Would you want to watch the Olympics live, given the reports about hacking and lack of some conveniences that we take for granted, like clean water?
