I had coffee this morning with probably the most qualified person in the crowded Secretary of State's race — Ada County Chief Deputy Clerk Phil McGrane. He's a lawyer, elections specialists and decent BBQ cook who has hands on experience with the type of thing that go on in the Secretary of State's office, an office some believe should be nonpartisan. Sandy Patano and McGrane's campaign coordinator Benn Brocksome joined us at Bakery by the Lake. Which is starting to be my go-to place for early morning coffees.
