DP: Idaho R’s Eschew Local Control

DeePee (RE: Chief rips guns-on-campus hearing): Amazing, isn't it, how Idaho Rs pay such lip-service to local control. Just as I would oppose an outright, statewide ban on firearms on college campuses, it's up to the individual university to set its own policies. The NRA doesn't in many instances speak for the interests of those who respect the 2nd Amendment, any more than AARP represents 60-and-overs who are not Democrats. If I owned a store and didn't want people packing guns to enter it, would that not be my right as a free man or woman shopkeeper? The NRA and the gummit should butt out of this one; it just drags those of us who do prefer to own guns through the mud and gives the Nanny-State liberals something to hum-diddle about.

Question: Do you think Republican legislative leaders distain local control, while, at the same time, begrudging feds for trying to take away states' rights?
