"Downton Abbey" has become a Sunday night ritual for many television viewers. The program gives a glimpse into England during the last century as well as offering a greater understanding of what class differences brought –living upstairs or serving downstairs. The program’s writing is snappy and its plot lines force us to align with favorite characters. But only eight episodes this season? Really, Julian Fellowes? Americans are accustomed to 20 episodes for many of our favorite programs. Perhaps we must adopt British ways when it comes to consuming our favorite delights – as with tea, just a few sips at a time/Catherine Johnston, End Notes.
