Coeur d’Alene Mayor-elect Steve Widmyer, and soon-to-be council members Kiki Miller and Amy Evans will be sworn in Tuesday, January 7, during the regular Coeur d’Alene City Council meeting. The council meets at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. During the ceremony, Widmyer will recommend several appointments to city subcommittees and volunteers boards to fill positions currently held by department council members. There will also be formal recognition of Mayor Sandi Bloem, who is stepping down from office after 12 years; Deanna Goodlander, who leaves the city after 16 years of service; and Mike Kennedy, who served 8 years/Keith Erickson, Coeur d'Alene Today.
