In the closing days of the fall municipal election in Coeur d'Alene, this poster surfaced on social media sites. It was prophetic. All four candidates on what was dubbed the Balance North Idaho ticket, for want of a better name, easily won their mayor or council elections. They are (clockwise from top left): Mayor-elect (for a few more hours) Steve Widmyer and council members-elect Amy Evans, Kiki Miller and Councilman Woody McEvers. McEvers was the only council member to seek re-election. The four members will be sworn in tonight and will immediately form a new majority that should keep the city headed in the right direction. Now that the McEuen Field issue has been settled, it won't be surprising to see Councilman Ron Edinger distance himself from the voting minority that also included Councilmen Dan Gookin and Steve Adams.
