Press poll: Lethal traps, public lands don't mix

Yesterday the CDA Press reported:

The Press stepped into a bigger controversy than it expected when it asked cdapress.com readers to weigh in on the latest poll.

After a local family's dog was killed in a trap close to inhabited areas, we asked, "How do you feel about lethal traps on public lands?" The response was huge as social media played a part in spreading word to participate in the poll.

Here's the final tally:

• 61 percent (22,835 votes) said "Bad; dangers exceed reason."

• 34 percent (12,617 votes) said "Good; trappers have rights, too."

• 5 percent (2,011 votes) said "No opinion."

That's a heck of a response to a newspaper poll. Thoughts?
