P&R Panel To Discuss ‘Four Corners’

Following several months of public input, the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission this evening will review several redevelopment recommendations for the so-called Four Corners area. Four Corners generally stretches from the Riverstone development to Memorial Field near downtown along Northwest Boulevard, the western gateway to Coeur d’Alene. For nearly a year, project organizers, community leaders, stakeholders, and interestedneighbors have offered dozens of ideas for upgrades, ranging from improved trail access and educational interpretive posts, to improving the campus around Memorial Field and even a community garden/Coeur d'Alene Today. More here.

Question: Methinks Four Corners will finally attract attention when plans begin to solidify. Then, we'll begin seeing people who'll say: Why didn't the city tell the public about these plans? The Four Corners redevelopment will have a major impact on Coeur d'Alene. Why do you think there seems to be little public interest?
