About Those Smoky Skies Out There

Air quality has worsened dramatically this afternoon after the National Weather Service issued an air quality alert for much of the Inland Northwest as winds drive Central Washington wildfire smoke eastward. The air quality index in Spokane went from good this morning to moderate early this afternoon to unhealthy for persons with health problems by 3:30 p.m. The index stood at 145 with 150 being unhealthy for the general population. Local agencies also issued burn bans for most recreational fires. Spokane County, the city of Spokane and the Spokane Valley Fire Department announced burn bans, including the cities of Liberty Lake and Millwood/Mike Prager, SR. More here.
