GOP Incumbents Have Huge $$$ Edge

Former Idaho Democratic Congressman Richard Stallings reports raising just over 1 percent of the campaign war chest accumulated by eight-term incumbent 2nd District Republican Rep. Mike Simpson. In the 1st District, Democratic state Rep. Shirley Ringo fares considerably better, having raised over one-third of the amount garnered by GOP Congressman Raul Labrador through June 30. Reports for the Senate race aren't yet available on the Federal Election Commission database, but as of April 30 Democrat Nels Mitchell had raised about 11 percent of the total accumulated for the 2014 election by incumbent Republican Sen. Jim Risch/Dan Popkey, Idaho Statesman. More here.

Question: How can Dems compete in congressional races without money?
