Boundary Co Inmate Hangs Himself

A Boundary County Jail inmate hanged himself in his cell sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning. On Wednesday, David Lee Ericson of Boundary County was arrested in Bonners Ferry on an outstanding warrant from Bonner County. according to the Boundary County Sheriff's Department. Also, he was charged with resisting arrest. Ericson, who had no apparent injuries and was in good health, was then confined by himself in the Boundary County Jail. During the night, Mr. Ericson died of an apparent suicide by hanging.  There is no suspected foul play. All subjects in confinement are checked every 30 minutes within the Boundary County Jail for their own safety as was Mr. Ericson. CPR was performed on Ericson before he was transported to the Boundary County Hospital. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.  Reports on toxicology and a full autopsy are proceeding. The Idaho State Police is investigating the matter/Boundary County Sheriff's Department news release.
