Hearn: Educators Should Know Best

Chairman Tom Hearn of the Coeur d'Alene School Board via Facebook commentary: "One thing I have found interesting on the school board is how many people are willing to ignore educators and believe they are only focused on their own self interest not the children. We don't presume to tell law enforcement, doctors, engineers, psychologists, lawyers, architects, and many other professionals how to do their professional work. Yet as a society we insist on telling educators how to do their jobs plus expect the public schools will do far more than just educate children, and then we underfund the schools in Idaho in a manner that I think borders on negligence."

Question: Do you think, as Chairman Hearn does, that the funding of our public schools borders on negligence?
