Christie Explains Sherman Substation

Sgt. Christie Wood (RE: City mulls East Sherman substation): I would like to point out that Keith provided discussion points that came from a budget strategy session with the Council. This is a good thing- transparency! Many of the questions you may seek answers to will be part of on-going discussion. Keith is doing his part as City PIO to keep our citizens informed. Why so harsh Joker? You are usually pretty easy going. The Police sub-station is merely a concept at this point in time. And even though we may refer to it as a sub-station I assure you what we have in mind is a very small, existing facility that would essentially involve office space and that is it. The cost if approved by council will be low and not part of a Bond proposal. We are still in process of determining the actual dollar amount.

Question: Christie's explanation of a possible future East Sherman Avenue substation seems reasonable to me? Office space in an existing building -- and increased police presence in sketchy part of town? I'd call it a win. You?
