Screams of joy and excitement filled McEuen Park on Friday as hundreds of kids did their part to break in the new brightly colored playground. In a word, the kids aptly summarized the new park: "IT'S AWESOME!" Nearly 200 students from Sorenson Elementary School joined the immediately popular playground at noon to test out the multiple features on what is now the Lake City’s largest playground. Needless to say, it passed with flying colors. “My kids were off the charts excited to get down here,” said 5th grade teacher David Groth. “What a wonderful, wonderful addition to the community.” Second grade teacher Scott DuCoeur concurred with the kids. “It’s awesome; I’ll be back this weekend with my kids.” A friendly reminder from city Parks Director Bill Greenwood: Please keep off the recently seeded areas of the park. The formal McEuen Park dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will be Saturday, May 24/Keith Erickson, Coeur d'Alene Today.
Question: Izzit just me, or do those kids look pretty happy re: the new McEuen Park? Mary? Kathy? What say you?
