Whalen Offers To Quit As Group Chair

Last night, Chairman Pat Whalen sent an email to the Board of Governors of the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County. Whalen (center in Duane Rasmussen photo from the Thursday forum at NIC) is chairman of the organization and a challenger for state Sen. Bob Nonini's District 4 seat. The email follows:

I have spoken to many of you since learning of this and I will continue to reach out.   As you can read below, I had a DUI years ago.   The Nonini’s have written the National BGC and they have responded as below. This will be a topic at our board meeting next week and I, of course, will recuse myself.   I hereby offer to resign if that is the will of the board and I apologize to all of you for dragging the BGC through this.   Is was not my intention to involve the BGC in the campaign and while I have mentioned my service it has never been a focal point of the campaign. I feel sick about this and again apologize.

Question: Do you think Pat Whalen should resign?
