One of the local legislative races covered by the Coeur d'Alene Press today is the one between Nonini and Post Falls businessman Pat Whalen:

  • Nonini: As a legislator who has served on the Education Committee, Nonini said he's passionate about creating opportunities with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Nonini, who assisted with the start of the North Idaho STEM Charter Academy in Rathdrum, said more jobs in the future will require a STEM education. Story here.
  • Whalen: Whalen, CEO and president of Resource Computing, has been a leader with the Rotary in Coeur d'Alene and the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County in Post Falls.Economic development will be a top priority for Whalen. He said he believes we can do a better job of tapping into the high technology sector in North Idaho. Story here.
