Rice’s Spokane Visit Sparks Hubbub

Protesters greet visit of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Spokane today. (Photo: KHQ)

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in Spokane on Thursday, speaking at Whitworth University's fall President's Leadership Forum, and while many people paid to attend the event inside the Convention Center, a large group of protesters gathered outside as well. Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. ... Rice's visit was not met without some controversy, however. Outside the Convention Center, a large group of protesters formed by several Spokane human rights groups gathered to voice their discontent with the former Secretary of State's visit. The protesters passed out leaflets while wearing "jailbird" suits and large bobbleheads of Rice, former Vice President Dick Cheney and former President George W. Bush and holding "guilty" signs to symbolize the impact of the Iraq War on civilians/KHQ. More here.

Question: Do you have any problems with Condoleezza Rice speaking at Whiteworth's Leadership Forum?
