Huckleberries Online

And Now A Word From Shawn …

On her Facebook wall, state Sen. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, posts:

"This post on Dave O's Huckleberries Online blog at the Spokesman Review reminds me that the twilight hours of campaign season can be filled with ugly and deceitful occurrences. As always, I've worked hard in each campaign to focus on the issues and the people and not to be drug down into the mud. I am hopeful that most people recognize the nature of those who engage in last minute attacks that leave no time for candidates to respond. I've not seen this particular mailer yet and so do not know what all it says, but, I am disappointed that it purports to be from a 'Republican' group, while supporting my opponent who is running on the Constitution Party ticket, its from Kootenai County, and that its only Friday and we still have the weekend to go."

Question: In the past, candidates couldn't respond to a last-minute hatchet job by opponents. But the social media has changed things. Now, we can discuss 11th-hour nasty business until the time the polls close. Thoughts?
