Poll: Expand Jail

  • Wednesday Poll: Hucks Nation recommends that Kootenai County forget about a private contract for space to address jail overcrowding and ... expand the jail. 70 of 234 respondents (29.91%) said the best way to relieve overcrowding at the jail is to expand the current site. 68 of 234 (29.06%) said the county should quit jailing minor offenders. 55 (23.%) said the county should run a jail bond. 23 (9.83%) said the county should do nothing -- and continue to pack in prisoners like sardines. 15 (6.41%) said commissioners should try to win judicial confirmation approval again. 3 (1.28%) were undecided.
  • Today's Poll: Has Sherri Ybarra's campaign for state superintendent been hurt by duplication of verbiage on opponent's Web site?
