Marc Stewart (RE: CEA: Make trustees 'uncomfortable'): I think people should use good judgment when talking to any civic leader. Civic leaders shouldn't be surprised if people approach them (that's part of the job), but it's wrong to confront anyone at their place of worship or if they're spending time with their family. I also believe how a person communicates is vital. The word confront could imply there needs to be an argument with yelling and demanding tones. Making them uncomfortable? Why? I understand emotions run high when you're talking about a person's paycheck, but people need to be respectful. There's a time and place for everything.

DFO: I'm with Marc. I routinely support better salaries for teachers, more money for Idaho schools -- and oppose the ill will aimed at teachers by too many legislators. However, the CEA stepped over a line when it suggested that teachers make trustees "uncomfortable" out in public places, including church. Teachers need to reign in the union leader(s) who's giving this bad advice. What's next? Bring in Vinny from Chicago to break knuckles?
