Local GOP Opposes Child Support Bill

Here's the conclusion to the whereases of a motion passed last night by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee in opposition to the Child Support bill that was killed in the House Judiciary & Rules Committee this month. (You'll notice that Bonner County GOP is mentioned in the whereases. The Kootenai County GOP basically took the resolution passed by Bonner County last week and made slight modifications to it. Chairman Danielle Ahrens of the Bonner County GOP was present at the Kootenai County meeting last night):

"Resolved, that the (Kootenai) County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) urges in the strongest language that the Representatives, Senators and the Governor of Idaho pass legislation on the individual merits of a legal issue and not engage in the attempted federal extortion of Idaho State's ratification of an International Treaty through a combined legislative bill, which by design is to threaten the elimination of domestic federal welfare & child support aid dollars, and, as a distinct and separate legislative act, the Representatives, Senators and Governor oppose the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act in it's (sic) current form."

Question: And we wonder where our local legislators come up with some of their goofy ideas?
