Ex-prez Carter shows amazing grace

Former President Jimmy Carter teaches Sunday School class at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, in Plains, Ga. The 90-year-old Carter gave one lesson to about 300 people filling the small Baptist church that he and his wife, Rosalynn, attend. It was Carter's first lesson since detailing the intravenous drug doses and radiation treatment planned to treat melanoma found in his brain after surgery to remove a tumor from his liver. From Facebook Friend Darrell Kerby, former mayor of Bonners Ferry:

"The power of faith ... President Jimmy Carter's administration rarely provided much inspiration. In fact for me just the opposite. His post Presidential life however did. Humanitarian work was taken to another level by the ex-president creating inspiration world wide but perhaps it is in his current battle with a terminal illness that is providing his greatest inspiration. President Carter who by many will be seen as one of America's most liberal administrations is now showing the power of Christ as he faces a terminal illness. Grace, humility and love exude from the President. Perhaps it is in the last chapter of his life that he will provide his greatest inspiration to a increasingly religiously cynical nation. Prayers and love to you Mr. President."

DFO: I agree with Darrell. Didn't think much of Jimmy Carter as president (although I almost voted for him). But he has been a decent ex-president. Thoughts?
