Latest North Idaho Wildfire Info

The USFS, Idaho Department of Lands and Coeur d'Alene Tribe provide all the latest info about wildfires burning throughout North Idaho here. Here's the latest on the Tower Fire near Priest Lake:

Tower Fire (Kansu Complex includes areas in Washington and Idaho.  Complex= 13,854 acres. Includes Baldy, Grease Creek, Onata Creek and Tower) ICT (Kurth) Tower Fire is 12,281 acres on the Idaho Panhandle NF and is all within Washington state.  The fire started on the Colville NF and is visible from Priest Lake. Area Command is in place for fires in the Colville National Forest (NF). Colville NF is managing the fire with guidance from Idaho Panhandle NF fire management. Fire personnel: 682 on complex. Yesterday, the Tower Fire was very active, especially on Pyramid Pass and around Brown’s Lake. Firefighters made significant use of retardant drops in these areas late in the day. The Brown’s Lake campground and boat launch were protected. The fire has reached, but not crossed, the Cee Cee Ah Road. South of Brown’s Lake, crews again successfully kept the fire from spreading further southwest. The north end of the fire was held at the Squaw Valley Road. Crews will continue to work on line construction and reinforcement on the east and south sides of the fire.
