Redman: Not Doing It For Pay

Freshman Rep. Eric Redman, R-Athol, gave the opening prayer in the House this morning, as the regular chaplain was away. Redman said his message was for all representatives, Republican and Democrat alike. “I believe you all are here to sincerely serve the constituents in your district, and together we serve the citizens of Idaho. We certainly aren’t doing it for the pay,” he said. “I thank you for your diligence and perseverance,” Redman said. “Scripture instructs those of faith to pray for all people everywhere, especially that those of authority would lead the world, or a state, to dignity and peace.” He read from the psalms “for encouragement … when you receive those negative emails”/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise.
