Huckleberries Online

Along The Waterfront

During a solo walk today, I saw:

  • Police Chief Lee White jogging with city spokesman Keith Erickson by the University of Idaho's Coeur d'Alene Center.
  • 3 deer grazing boldly in the open above the portion of the Centennial Trail that leads to the Highway 95 bridge.
  • That new sign on the sewer treatment plant (separate post today): Gas Venting Area, Permission Granted for Personal Venting. The sign complements one nearby, which features a cardboard "aromatherapy" button with instructions to push for additional aroma.
  • Work continuing on levee restoration at the mouth of the Spokane River. Equipment operators were smoothing the new slopes of the levee heading down to the water. It appears that most of the tree stumps have been removed. It was hard to tell because the Dike Road is still blocked off.
  • A long-time friend and her walking partner on the Dike Road. The pair admitted that the view of the water, without as many trees, was viewtiful. I must admit the improved view of the water is growing on me.
