City To Work On Dike Thru February

The city’s portion of the work on the Dike Road will be completed at the end of February. The KEA is accurate in its estimate that about 70 percent of the trees along the Dike Road will remain. As noted previously, most of the trees being removed are dead, diseased or unhealthy. Some of the wood being is chipped and sent to various locations, including the University of Idaho, to use in boilers to generate electricity. The wood is also offered to local Boy Scout troops who may choose to chop the wood and sell it as firewood for fundraisers, and also made available for low income individuals for firewood/Keith Erickson, city of Coeur d'Alene.
