Athol Mayor Offers Fire Help

At 8:57 a.m. today, Mayor Kuhman of Athol posted the following message on the city's Facebook page:

"Athol City Hall Plan is: We will coordinate to send people to the below listed areas: People can wait at the Community Center 208-683-2101, or the Athol Baptist Church 208-683-2802, has room: We are still on standby.

"Again if evacuation is necessary -- Red Cross Station 509--842-0584 is at Timberlake High School and they have a large gym with cots and facilities & supplies.

"If you have animals -- Kootenai County Fairgrounds have facilities for large and small animals and people can tent or bring campers. 925-872-6472 If you need help transporting animals Equa Dance Meadows Farm 208-651-9639 Athol Community Center can be a waiting area, but we do not have showers, it is best to go Timberlake High School.

"Heritage Health in CdA is bringing up their Mobile Medical Clinic for those who need a med tech, and it will be at the Athol Community Center.

"Second Harvest Foods will be bringing water and supplies up the Athol Community Center shortly.

"For fire updates check http://inciweb.nwcg.gov and go to the Idaho search or call 208-765-7243. The other numbers I were given do not seem to be working, so please rely on the news and check with them and keep from swamping the phone lines of emergency hotlines, unless it is an emergency. Please do not drive down to Bayview to look, stay out of Fire & Police way, they are doing their job and need our support to let them do it.

"If you want to bring in donations of towels, blankets, personal supplies, drinks & food, you can drop them off at the Community Center, and whatever is not used after this is over, we will donate to those who have lost homes. Thank you everyone!"
