Fire Slows, Bayview Meeting Tonight

There will be a community meeting in Bayview Tuesday night to discuss the progress made in fighting the Cape Horn Fire. The meeting will be at the Bayview Community Center at 8:00 p.m. at 20298 Perimeter Road. Firefighters reported minimal growth of the fire Monday evening into Tuesday morning. The current size of the fire is still sitting at 2,000 acres with 0% containment. The fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain, which is slowing progress, but firefighters are continuing to attack from the air and water. Highway 54 is closed at Farragut State Park Visitor Venter and Perimeter Road is closed at Sallee Creek Road for public safety/KHQ. More here.
