CdA Widens Narrow Bike Trails

As part of its commitment to providing the best possible citywide trail system for bicyclists, runners and walkers, the city this summer is widening narrow bike lanes. The city’s Bike-Ped Committee recently measured bike lanes across the city and determined which trails were too narrow to provide safe passage. “The goal is to correct any deficiencies in our trail system to become a silver-level bicycle committee,” said Bike-Ped Committee Chairman Chris Bosley. “To move in that direction, we need to make existing trails as user-friendly as possible.” Steve Anthony, director of the city’s parks and recreation department, said the lane widening is all part of the city’s trail improvement master plan/Keith Erickson, Coeur d'Alene Today. DFO: I have only ridden my bike once this year. Dunno why, after riding it much of the year in 2014. How about you? Are you riding your bike more/less/same as last year?
