Op-Ed: IFF Distorts Reality

In an op-ed article for the Idaho State Journal (around May 10), Idaho State University professor emeritus Leonard Hickcock of Pocatello takes Wayne Hoffman and the Idaho Freedom Foundation to task for its role in stirring up ideological legislators:

"The Idaho Freedom Foundation (IFF), aka, Wayne Hoffman, vigorously supported those Idaho House committee members who voted against the child support bill. It argued that proponents of the bill were unable to respond to allegations about possible infringements of Idaho’s sovereignty. The fact that a detailed refutation of such allegations by the state’s attorney general had been issued seemed to make no difference, nor did subsequent editorials explaining the stupidity of the vote and its potentially disastrous consequences for Idaho families. Why did the IFF take the position it did? The answer lies in the organization’s obsessive concern about the federal monies that help fund Idaho’s state agencies and services." More here.
