The Boston Red Sox recently paid tribute to one of the team's loyal fans: Coeur d'Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore. "We received a request to acknowledge Police Sgt. Moore’s passing from someone who read that he was a Red Sox fan in his obituary," stated John Gonoude, a representative of the Red Sox franchise in Boston, in a message Thursday to The Press. "The scoreboard message was a small gesture from the club to pay tribute to a devoted fan who passed away so tragically." Moore was shot while on patrol March 5 in Coeur d'Alene. He died later that day. The suspect, Jonathan Renfro, is being held at Kootenai County jail on $2 million bail. The tribute to Moore was displayed on the Fenway Park scoreboard May 13, according to Gonoude. It did not appear during a game/Maureen Dolan, Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.
