On The Waterfront …

Warm temperatures and blue skies prompted the opening of the McEuen Park splash pad on Thursday, just in time for the long Memorial Day weekend. More here. (Photo: Coeur d'Alene Today)

One on the features that I meant to mention to you from my walk along the waterfront today was the splash down area. The water is on -- and children were enjoy the 75-degree temperature and the water. The near by playground that's usually teaming with children was nearly empty. However, there were about 100 8- to 9-year-olds eating lunch under the trees on the west side of the Coeur d'Alene Library. They may have been preparing to play in the McEuen Park play area. (BTW, that wood carving from the Freedom Tree is worth a visit to the Veterans Plaza at McEuen Park. Fabulous.)
