Following an extensive search lasting nearly 12 hours, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit located Michael Montgomery a short distance from his residence in good condition. Montgomery, 63, of Athol, had left his residence at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday on his ATV with the intention of camping out for the night, unbeknownst to his family. His family reported him missing at about 10 p.m..
