For those keeping score at home …

... The four candidates who showed up for the Kootenai County Democratic Club candidates forum today all said that they would make no move to repeal the city's anti-discrimination ordinance, which extend civil rights protections to LGBT individuals in terms of housing, employment and public accommodations. In June 2013, Coeur d'Alene became the fifth Idaho city to pass the ordinance, on a 5-1 vote. Councilman Steve Adams, who is running for re-election, was the only dissenting vote. However, Adams said he wouldn't work to overturn the ordinance, if re-elected. Interestingly, Adams can't make a motion to overturn the ordinance, under Idaho law, because he was on the losing side of the vote. He would have to be on the winning side to bring the matter up. Toby Schindelbeck, who is challenging incumbent Ron Edinger, didn't show up for the Democratic forum.
