Update: English leads fund-raising

Former county clerk Dan English (disclosure statement here) is the leading fund-raiser for the Coeur d'Alene City Council elections, with $7,042, according to the 30-day, pre-election financial disclosure reports. His opponent, incumbent Steve Adams, has raised $5,901. Meanwhile, Brent Regan, a member of the hardline conservative Idaho Freedom Foundation board, has donated $500 apiece to the candidacies of Toby Schindelbeck (disclosure statement here) and incumbent Steve Adams (disclosure statement here). The filing deadline for the 30-day reports was at 5 p.m. today.

  • In the race for Council Seat No. 1, incumbent Ron Edinger (financial statement here) has raised $5,678, including contributions of $1,000 apiece from firefighters associations from Coeur d'Alene and Boise and the Coeur d'Alene Police Association. Edinger has also received $550 from Tony Stewart and $500 from Mayor Steve Widmyer, as well as nine contributions between $100 and $400. Schindelbeck has raised $1,620, largely from $500 donations from Regan and Janet Schindelbeck of Post Falls.
  • In the race for Council Seat No. 5, incumbent Adams is running against Dan English and Paul MacNeil. Adams' includes  $1,000 donations each from Mary, Charles and Craig Adams, and from David Lyons. Regan Properties and Mary & Lloyd Drennan have each contributed $500. English has received $1,000 contributions from a Boise firefighters group, Coeur d'Alene firefighters association and Coeur d'Alene police association. Also, he has received 32 contributions from individuals, between $50 and $100. MacNeil (disclosure statement here) has raised $20 to date.
