Rep. Heather Scott slams media, says: Civil War about states’ rights

In a post on her Heather Scott for North Idaho Facebook wall, state Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, criticized the media and then provided a statement that said the Civil War was fought over states' rights not slavery. She began:

"Today, an Idaho based newspaper contacted me in hopes of getting a verbal interview. Likely, they already had the story written, and only needed that perfect sound bite to fit their theme and twist a "non issue" into an issue. I did not want to be "misquoted" so I provided them the following written statement relating to their nonissue ..." (Click on photo to enlarge and see Rep. Question: Izzit just me -- or has the Far Right embraced the states-rights meme re: Civil War?
