Schindelbeck files for Edinger seat
It's official. Toby Schindelbeck has filed for Coeur d'Alene City Council seat No. 1, the position now held by long-time incumbent Ron Edinger. Edinger has also filed. Schindelbeck, a relative newcomer from Chico, Calif., where he ran unsuccessfully for city council, made a splash on the local scene last year when he unsuccessfully challenged state Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d'Alene, in a House District 4 race. Interestingly, conservative hardline Councilman Steve Adams signed Schindelbeck's candidacy petition, as Schindelbeck did his. Maybe we have the makings of a ticket here? Filing deadline is at 5 p.m. today.
