McGruber jabs Larkin’s decision

Breaking down the races this fall for local city council seats, McGruber writes of former mayor Clay Larkin's decision to run for the spot now held by Post Falls Councilman Joe Malloy:

"Former PF mayor Clay Larkin retired after 20 years with much fanfare a couple of years ago but looks like life outside the limelight isn't as much fun. He filed not for the open council seat vacated by retiring Skip Hissong but for the seat occupied by one term councilor Joe Malloy who as a 30 something is about half century younger than Larkin and who has done a good job representing an under represented generation on the PF council. IMO that race should generate as much excitement as any of the council races in CDA."

Question: Why do you think former Mayor Larkin is running for the council again?
