Ex-Lakeland super seeks NIC post

Brad Murray, with 36 years’ experience in the public schools of Idaho as a teacher and administrator, today announced his candidacy for Zone 5 on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees in the upcoming November general election. In announcing his candidacy, Murray stated: “This is an opportunity for me to remain actively involved in education in Idaho and have an impact in the programs and the direction of NIC. My extensive background in career and technical education, public school administration and the work I have done in the area of workforce development align well with the mission and vision of NIC.”

Murray is a former high school teacher in the Wallace, Post Falls and Lakeland school districts. His administrative experiences consist of serving the Lakeland School District as Athletic Director from 1994-1998, Assistant Principal of Lakeland High School 1997-1999, Assistant Superintendent 2007-2014 and Superintendent 2014-2016. He was the principal/Director of the Coeur d’Alene, Lakeland and Post Falls School Districts’ Riverbend Professional Technical Academy (RPTA) 1999-2007.
